Honesty Box

Where I live in rural Galway the generosity amongst neighbours is a remarkable thing. Last year, when the pump in our well stopped working, our neighbour William was down within minutes to help us figure it out. Whenever we’re sick, Chrissy will arrive with whatever remedy she is partial to – usually red lemonade! And there are countless other examples.

I find this generosity inspiring. In today’s world where time always seems in short supply, creating relationships on a foundation of kindness and generosity is not something that we see very much of – it goes against the narratives of distrust and scarcity that are so common.

For that reason, I have chosen to use an honesty box system of payment for both the Ánradh Community Platform and Notes on Living. I am so glad to be able to bring the values of kindness, trust and mutual generosity into this space and this is my invitation to you to join a community based on those values.

How it works

You choose what amount you want to pay to sign-up for the Ánradh Community or Notes on Living.

If you are unsure about what to contribute, think of what you would pay for an equivalent group or blog subscription. If you are low on money at the moment, then offer whatever feels comfortable to you. If money is less of a concern for you, then offer what feels appropriate to your circumstance. When considering your contribution, you might keep in mind your own situation, the values which you aspire to and the effort and investment which I put in to creating and maintaining the Ánradh Community and Notes on Living.
